Sepsis is a potentially life-threatening condition which can be easily treated if caught early.  Symptoms of sepsis will present differently between children and adults. The information below will help you identify the symptoms.

HOW CAN YOU SPOT THE SIGNS OF SEPSIS?

Sepsis could occur as a result of any infection. There is no one sign for sepsis.

Sepsis is a very serious condition that can initially look like flu, a chest infection or gastroenteritis.

You should seek urgent medical advice and help if you or anyone you care for develop any of the following:

Slurred speech and/or confusion
Extreme shivering or muscle pain
Passing no urine (in any one day)
Severe breathlessness
It feels like you’re going to die
Skin mottled or discoloured (Mottled skin is skin that has patchy and irregular colors. The skin may have red and purple marks, streaks, or spots. It may also have a marbled appearance with different colors.)
